Hello, parents,
Today’s topic is building a library for your children—an essential part of the environment in which they grow. A library is more than just books on a shelf; it is a collection of knowledge that will feed their minds and shape their thoughts. Their hearts are the soil, and the information they absorb is the seed that eventually produces from them, who they become.
Our thoughts produce our actions, and our actions direct our lives. This means the quality of our thoughts must be of the highest and ultimate standard.
The Bible must be the first book in their library—presented in a way that is readable, engaging, and effective for achieving purpose. But alongside the Bible, companion books are essential—books that help to water the seeds sown by Scripture, explaining key concepts in simple and relatable language.
These books reinforce biblical truths and broaden their understanding.

I encourage you to be intentional about creating this environment in your home. Let your children have their own library, specially curated by you, filled with books that guide their thoughts, inspire, and shape their perspectives.
Books are a second teacher in the home. You, as parents, are the first teacher, and books serve as an assistant teacher—helping to reinforce what you teach, or even teach topics you’re not conversant with yourself, but that they need to know.
But just as you carefully choose your children’s teachers, you must thoroughly screen the books you allow in.
It is important to check the spirit behind a book not just the words written in it.
Authors impart more than ideas—they impart the spirit behind their words.
Therefore, we must ensure that the writers we introduce to our children are people of character, and godly fruit.
Individuals we would want our children to learn from and even resemble.
If you don’t know an author, I would search their spirit – by reading their text and comparing it to the word of God that is truth, and you will see before long who they belong to. Then you can give this to your children if they pass this test.
So today, I encourage you: begin building a library for your children. It may start small, but God will give you grace.
He will lead you to the right resources.
Books can be passed down from generation to generation, as long as they contain timeless truth.
Your library can bless future generations.
