Just the same way flies come into our houses in the summer, in the same way we are most predisposed to giving access to demons in the most productive months and moments of our lives.
Why? Let’s take a physical example first.
In the summer, the sun is at its highest and produces so much energy to empower the entire creation. The energy generated from the sun while it is at its peak empowers the earth to produce food in abundance. It gives energy to the plants to produce, so it is a period of productivity, and the sun supplies the energy.
That same energy that empowers productivity, that supplies power and heat and allows everything to transform from one state to another, also empowers human beings with energy to do more tasks and be more productive. But that same energy source also produces heat as a by product.
So the heat produced within the house is felt as a high temperature. And what do humans do? They open up the doors and windows of the house to equalise the temperature inside with the temperature outside. They let heat out and allow cool air from the outside to come in. That is what happens in the summer.
In the winter, of course, the temperature outside is much colder than the temperature inside, so we generate heat within the house instead.
THE SUMMER OF OUR LIVES

In the summer of our lives, our human life enters a period of increased productivity in our jobs, our career projects, and our endeavours.
We have enough internal motivation supplied because God has set the planetary bodies on their calendar to supply energy at appointed times so that men on the earth can be more productive. In this supply of energy, we have ideas, motivation, drive, and clarity of vision. There is so much deposited on the inside of us that we need to create.
We receive ideas and assignments from God that we are very clear on. Then we get to a point where we realise that we need external help to produce more. We become our own bottleneck when we try to do everything ourselves.
So we multiply ourselves by employing the help of other people who have skills in areas we want to delegate or let go of. This is how we connect with the outside world.
Often, these people will not be Christians or of the same spirit as us. They simply have the skills we need. We can work with them, and indeed we should work with them. We should employ skilled people wherever they are found.
But the question is: how do we keep our spirits purified and separate in boundaries from those who may have impure spirits while still receiving their skillful work?
OPEN WINDOWS AND MOSQUITO NETS

The way to prevent cross contamination of spirits is the same way humans prevent mosquitoes and flies from coming into their houses when windows are open during summer.
The window has to be open. You cannot lock yourself in. The heat will make you miserable and will likely make you sick. You must connect with the outside world.
So how do you exchange produce with the outside world without allowing contamination to cross into you?
Humans use mosquito nets.
The mosquito net in this scenario represents boundaries.
We put up strong boundaries between ourselves and the people we interact with or exchange productivity with. We know where the line is. We stay focused on work and on producing the best quality output we can.
When emotions begin to get involved, when words, speech, actions, and feelings cross the line, we must agree to keep things cordial and on task.
When there is emotional manipulation, name calling, shaming, criticism, guilt, or any ungodly behaviour, we put up strong boundaries. We call it out. We refuse to accept it. We do not tolerate it.
Tolerance or acceptance is how cross contamination happens.
Demons look for agreement to enter, so strong boundaries are necessary.
SUMMER REQUIRES BOUNDARIES
Summer is when we collaborate the most. It is when we interact with the world the most. It is when we open our doors and windows to get out the work God is doing on the inside of us.
That is why summer is also when we are most predisposed to spiritual access if boundaries are not in place.
The net that prevents demonic entrance is strong boundaries that prevent agreement and tolerance.
WINTER, RETREAT, AND REST

In the winter time, the sun retreats. There is just enough light to empower daylight, but not enough to empower productive action.
Why? Because winter is the time when we are meant to retreat within ourselves.
Everything in creation does this. Plants shed their leaves. They shed their fruits. They shed the showiness of the year. They almost hibernate into a non outwardly productive state.
It is a state of rest. A state of recuperation. A state of conserving energy. A state of using what was gathered during the summer and generating life from within.
Most importantly, the state of rest is a bath. That is Shabbat. So that the next year can begin stronger and more productive.
So we humans should do the same.
We should retreat within ourselves. Cut off connections as much as possible. Stop outward showiness. Reduce productive action. Seek real rest. Repair our souls. Reflect. Heal. Recuperate with God.
Feed on God’s Word. Worship Him. Hear Him. Rest. Regain energy. Gather energy. Prepare for the year ahead.
Because we are in a retreated state, we do not have as many openings to the outside world and fewer contact points for demons to enter.
DECEMBER AND THE NIGHT SEASON

December is kind of the night time of the year. Not just December, but the months leading up to it, when the year grows darker, can be likened to the night cycle of a 24 hour period.
Walkers of darkness operate at night, but joy comes in the morning when the light comes and the children of light awaken to go about their walk.
So rest in December. Renew yourself. Recharge. Cut off connections.
You are not here to give out energy in this season. You are here to conserve energy, to generate energy, to receive energy from God, to repair old wounds, and to prepare yourself to start the new year healthily.
