Capture and Hold Knowledge

by Dr Theodora Banigo Ekwevugbe

Dear Young Believer,

One thing I have come to realize in my journey through this world is this: the more knowledge you have, the more you are able to do — because the more you know what to do.

Well-directed, effective action produces results. And when action consistently produces the results you intend, that is power. Therefore, knowledge, through a series of steps, leads to power — the power of cause and effect working in the direction you desire.

So I encourage you: actively pursue knowledge.

Do not grow comfortable with not knowing.

How Young Christians Can Capture and Apply Biblical Knowledge

We are world-mates. Every person on this planet is your fellow human — created by God, placed here with purpose. Each of us has a role to play. And there is a score by which we will be marked — not by one another, but by Him to whom we owe accountability.

The One who took time and pain to create us.

The One under whose governance and guardianship we still walk this earth.

The One who holds all things together in order.

He is God.

To Him you will give account. It is His breath in your lungs. He is the giver of life. Whether we acknowledge Him or not does not change the reality that He is.

All knowledge ultimately comes from God — either directly from Him or through those in whom He has deposited it. Now, some misuse knowledge. Some distribute it wrongly, distort it, or weaponize it. And so we speak of knowledge used for evil. But the existence of misuse does not negate the sacred origin of truth.

Therefore, for every knowledge that has been released into the world — present in minds, books, institutions, and resources — you should be keen and curious to understand it.

This does not mean you must use all knowledge. But you must not hide yourself from what has been revealed to humanity. If it has been placed on the table for mankind to know, you should at least be aware of it.

Do not worry about how long it will take you to learn everything there is to learn. That is not the burden. The burden is this: develop the habit of learning. Develop the spirit of curiosity.

Read.

Listen.

Observe.

Research.

Reflect.

Question.

Equip yourself with a healthy mind — one disciplined enough to grasp knowledge, retain it, synthesise it, and produce good fruit from it.

Get your mind optimised and ready, to readily receive and hold knowledge. Optimise yourself for learning.

Every human being must cultivate a learning spirit.

By knowledge we grow.

Knowledge feeds the mind.

Knowledge is food for development.

Knowledge expands awareness.

Knowledge is the food for evolution.

Let learning become your lifestyle.

And let your growth glorify the One who gave you the capacity to know.
