Tip for today: Plant the seed of truth first, in the soil of your kids heart.
Why is this important?
1. For any area of study or learning, kids come as a blank slate. The one who gets there first, gets to make the first impression, to plant seeds on fresh ground without weeds, and the effect of this is it shapes their perspective in the area.
2. Your words / teaching becomes their first knowledge – what they know to be true, and this forms the filter through which they assess any further / new information provided by other sources.
3. The one who does not get to the heart first to plant their God given perspectives on issues, now has to contend with what has already been planted by outsiders.
4. Don’t shy away from touching the hard areas. Teach in an age appropriate way, but no matter how diluted into milk the information is for their age, let them have God perspectives first in every area.
God is set to help us.
Getting there first is also about speed and awareness. The sooner usually, the better – Age appropriately, but preemptive, living as vigilant parents in the current age.
